Fall 2017 Certificate Fix

Android

1. Navigate to the Wi-Fi settings
2. Make sure "Wi-Fi" is turned on, then press Wi-Fi.
3. Forget networks attributed to CalPoly by pressing and holding on each one and chosing "Forget"
4. Locate "WiFiSetup" and connect to it
5. Install the Aruba ClearPass QuickConnect app from the Play Store. WiFiSetup will allow you to connect to the Play Store to download the app.
6. After the app is installed, open a browser (like Chrome) and go to the following webite (this is important!): connect.calpoly.edu
7. Login and download the certificate and profile (something should pop up and be downloaded right away). You will need to do this step twice: once for the certificate, and once for enrollment of the device.
8. Click on the certificate.
9. Select add when prompted.
10. Click on the profile.
11. Accept the profile.
12. Forget the "WiFiSetup" network
13. Connect to “SecureMustangWireless”

If it still does not connect, create a ticket.

MacOS

1. Press Command + Spacebar.
2. Type “Keychain Access”
3. Press Enter.
4. In the top right hand search bar, search: “clearpass”. Delete all things listed. Leave Keychain Access open. You'll need it again in step 12.
5. Open System Preferences.
6. Select Network.
7. Select Advanced Settings.
8. Remove “WiFiSetup”, “SecureMustangWireless”, and "CalPolyGuest" with the minus symbol if they are listed.
9. Go back and select apply on the bottom right.
10. Connect to “WiFiSetup”.
11. Once connected to “WiFiSetup”, open a browser (like Chrome, or Safari) and go to the following webite (this is important!): connect.calpoly.edu
12. Click "Install root certificate". A file will be downloaded. Open this file. Go back to Keychain Access (see steps 1-3 if you don't still have it open)
13. Search for clearpass
14. Double click on ClearPass Onboard Local Certificate Authority
15. Expand the "Trust" section
16. Set "When using this certificate" to "Always Trust"
17. Close the "ClearPass Onboard Local Certificate Authority" window, enter your computer password, and click "Update Settings"
18. Close Keychain Access and go back to the device registration page in your web browser
19. Login with your Cal Poly Username (without @calpoly.edu)
20. Click "Install Certificate" and click on the file that downloaded
21. Click "Install Profile" and click on the file that downloaded
22. Click "Install" both times it pops up and enter your computer password when prompted
23. Connect to “SecureMustangWireless”
24. Open System Preferences.
25. Select Network.
26. Select Advanced Settings.
27. Remove “WiFiSetup”, click "Okay", and click "Apply"
28. Go to googe.com and verify that you are connected. If not, try the steps below.

1. Press Command + Spacebar.

10. In the Wi-Fi menu in the top right corner of the screen, click SecureMustangWireless
11. Enter your Cal Poly username (without @calpoly.edu) and Cal Poly password
12. Make sure "Remember this network" is checked and click "Join"
13. If the "Verify Certificate" window pops up, click "Continue". Enter your computer password if prompted and click "Update Settings"
14. Go to google.com in a web browser to make sure that you're connected.

If it still does not connect, create a ticket.

iOS

1. Open Settings > General.
2. Scroll to the bottom and open Profiles. If you do not see a "Profiles" section, skip to step 4.
3. In the "Profiles" section, select the profile and tap Delete Profile. If you have a passcode for your device, you will be prompted to enter it. Then tap Delete. If there is more than one profile, repeat this step for each one.
4. Settings > WiFi, tap the "i" next to SecureMustangWireless and then "forget this network". Repeat this step for “WiFiSetup” and/or "CalPolyGuest"
5. Reconnect to “WiFiSetup”
6. Open Safari on your phone and go to connect.calpoly.edu
7. Login with your Cal Poly username and password and follow all the steps. NOTE: after all the steps are completed, you should have installed a profile AND a certificate. (You have to go back to safari after installing the first one to install the second)
8. Then go to Settings > WiFi
9. Connect to “SecureMustangWireless”
10. Your device should connect without having to enter your Cal Poly username and password.
11. Forget "WiFiSetup"

If the steps above do not work, try these steps:

1. Open Settings > General.
2. Scroll to the bottom and open Profiles. If you do not see a "Profiles" section, skip to step 4.
3. In the "Profiles" section, select the profile and tap Delete Profile. If you have a passcode for your device, you will be prompted to enter it. Then tap Delete. If there is more than one profile, repeat this step for each one.
4. Settings > WiFi, tap the "i" next to SecureMustangWireless and then "forget this network". Repeat this step for “WiFiSetup” and/or "CalPolyGuest"
5. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and connect to SecureMustangWireless
6. 11. Enter your Cal Poly username (without @calpoly.edu) and Cal Poly password
12. Make sure "Mode" is set to "Automatic" and tap "Join"
13. If the "Certificate" window pops up, tap "Trust". Enter your passcode if prompted.
14. Go to google.com in a web browser to make sure that you're connected.

If it still does not connect, create a ticket.

Windows 8 & 10

 

1. Forget all WiFi networks that are associated with Cal Poly (ex: SecureMustangWireless, WifiSetup, CalPolyGuest)
2. Click on the start menu and Type “Manage computer certificates”
3. In the “Action bar” at the top, click on “find certificates…”
4. Type “clearpass” in the contains bar
5. Click find now
6. Highlight all the results and delete them
7. Exit out and click on the start menu and type “Manage User Certificate”
8. Repeat steps 3-8.
9. Connect to “WifiSetup” and open up your browser connect.calpoly.edu
10. Login and download the “Quick connect” and run the program.
11. The program will do everything but be sure to click “yes” to all popups.
12. Click connect on the program.
13. Forget the "WiFiSetup" network
14. Connect to SecureMustangWireless

If it still does not connect, create a ticket.
